Bettie Davis | French Bulldog | Marina Del Rey, CA | In-Training

Bettie Davis, a 6 year old French Bulldog, has joined OffLeash SoCal for our two week board and train program. Bettie Davis had training in the past, but during Covid she fell a little off track. She knows her commands but doesn’t obey if distracted, pulls on the leash while walking, excessively barks, and has shown aggression with food around other dogs. Over the next two weeks Bettie Davis will be working on her off leash obedience and manners. Check in to see her progress!

Today Bettie Davis and I worked on her obedience at home. First I reintroduced her to the ecollar. We worked on commands: Sit, Down, and Place. She does the commands well, but doesn’t like to hold them very long. We need to do more work on her duration. Bettie did good job on her first day of training.

Today Bettie Davis and I went to the park to work on her obedience commands. We worked on Come, Sit, Down, Place, and Heel. She did a very good job today. We still need more practice on her duration. Bettie is doing a lot better with heel, staying at my side and not pulling as much.

Today Bettie Davis and I went to the park to work on her commands. We practiced a lot on her duration, holding her commands longer. Still a work in progress, but Bettie is getting better. I added a new command, Come to Heel. This one is a little bit tricky, but she’s starting to get the hang of it. We have been working on her ‘hungry’ button. She hasn’t told me on her own that she’s hungry, but pushes the button before I put the bowl down.

Today Bettie Davis and I went to Lowes to stay out of the rain. She did well around the people distraction, except when a Lowes employee started talking to her. She tried to be tough with her little barks, but once she realized she was going to be pet, Bettie stopped barking and ran right over to the lady. She is getting better at holding commands for a bit longer.

Merry Christmas Eve! Bettie Davis and I went to the park to work on her commands. She worked semi-off leash. I let her drag the leash around while she practiced her commands. I gave her a little Christmas Eve gift.

Merry Christmas! Bettie Davis worked on her commands at home and enjoyed the holiday with her friends and new toys. She was a little bit of a Grinch and wanted all the toys to herself.
