Bella, a Rottweiler from Pomona, CA went through the Balanced Canine Training SoCal Puppy Board & Train dog training program. Bella was trained by dog trainer Amanda Lascari in La Habra Heights, CA.
Bella, a 4 month old Rottweiler puppy, has joined Offleash SoCal for our 3 week puppy board and train program. This sweet and loving girl loves to play, especially with her 2 legged brothers and sister, but tends to get a little too rambunctious and jumps up on people and the furniture. She loves going for walks but pulls and tugs on the leash while walking. We will be working on obedience, potty training, and loose leash walking. Check out Bella’s progress over the next 3 week!

Beach adventures with Bella. Today we spent the day out in Santa Monica. We tried working on loose leash walking, but she preferred to hold the leash and walk herself. She did good at going to the bathroom outside, no potty accidents in the house today.

Bella is having fun, running and playing, with all her doggie friends. No potty accidents in the house. This morning she had her breakfast, but ate it too fast that she threw it up once she was done inhaling it. So, I switched out the regular bowl to the slow feeder bowl so she would have to slow down and chew her food. We worked more on loose leash walking in the neighborhood, as well as the come command. Both are still a work in progress, but not bad for her second day of training.

Today Bella and I went to the park to work on some commands. We mostly practiced come, sit, and loose leash walking. I did introduce the place command to her. Place is a command where Bella has to sit on an object, other than the floor. I used a dog cot for her to learn on. She wasn’t to sure at first, but once she got the hang of it she was hopping on and off of the cot no problem.

Bella is doing good with her potty training. She only had one accident in the house, when it was pouring outside. Once the rain stopped, she went out with me to feed the chickens. She decided she wanted eggs for breakfast, so took an egg from the hens nest. We practiced the place and down commands today. Bella‘s favorite thing to do is jump and play on the trampoline with her friend Pippi.

It was a lot of place work today. We practiced outside with my dogs, using them as distractions, running around and playing. It was a bit hard for her because she wanted to join them, but I made work through it and ignore them until I released her. We took a break for a bit and she ran around with the dogs and played with them on the trampoline; that’s her new favorite thing to do. Later on we practiced more, but inside the house. I had her in the place command during dinner and while I washed the dishes.

Oh Bella! She makes me laugh at things she does. Bailey, my German Shepherd, who we call The Nanny because she loves taking care of puppies. Bella loves to climb all over Bailey and sit on her. This morning we went on a walk with all the dogs, teaching Bella how to walk with the pack. We worked on the down command, she is a little bit stubborn and does it when she wants to. We played a little bit a fetch, trying to teach her to bring back the ball. Shes good at bringing it back but doesn’t want to drop or give it to me, but we will keep practicing.

Bella had fun hanging out with some new friends at Fashion Island today. She did a great working on all obedience commands with all the distractions going on around her.

Bella practicing her place/ duration down command while we were out at a restaurant. She did good, she stayed put when the waiter came out with the food and as people were walking past her. Later on in the day Bella and my pack went over to a friends house for a pack walk and doggie pool party. Potty training has been going great! No accidents in the house. She is doing amazing with all the obedience commands!

Bella enjoying the light rain we had today. We practiced commands indoors to stay dry and to teach Bella to be calm while in the house. Bella and her friend, Pippi, sometimes think the house is an indoor doggie playground. We practiced door manners some more. Pippi and Bella worked on th place command. Bella decided it was more comfortable to place on Pippi.

Today Bella and I went on a shopping spree at Irvine Spectrum Center. She is doing an amazing job with her training! Bella got a lot of attention today by all the people there; they were amazed at how well behaved and calm she was.
