Standard Poodle - Dog Training | Iceland | Los Angeles, CA

Iceland, a Standard Poodle, from Los Angeles, CA went through the Balanced Canine Training SoCal 2 Week Board & Train Program. Iceland was trained by dog trainer Haley Giwoff in Costa Mesa, CA

Meet Miss Iceland! She is a 7 month old Standard Poodle from Los Angeles, CA. Standard may be in her breed name but there isn't anything standard about her! She is very smart and already has some of the basics down, but is in a Two Week Board and Train program to take her to the next level! She gets a bit too excited about playing with other dogs and children which can make it near impossible to get her attention! I can't wait to see how much she is going to grow and learn in the next 14 days!

This Diva girl is having a blast exploring the backyard! Over all she is doing great! She has had a little kennel anxiety but nothing major, ate all her dinner in practically one bite, and is having a ton of fun exploring. I can't wait to do her first lesson with her tomorrow!

Iceland did really great in her first lesson! We finished getting her aquaited with the E-Collar, worked on her Recall, and then even made some really great progress on her Heel! The whole last portion of the video is no prong and no leash tension! She is still having quite a bit of kennel anxiety during the day, but nothing I can't handle. She slept through the night awesome and has eaten everything put in front of her! She is a sweet girl and even graced me with a few kisses during our lesson today.

Miss Iceland did awesome today! We practiced her Sit at a distance and with duration at the grocery store! He heel is coming along well and we are working on teaching her how to jump in the car all on her own. She is eating well and getting better with her kennel anxiety daily.

Iceland is coming along! She is getting into the kennel in the car all on her own and heeling with me dragging the leash on the ground! She does have her moments of confusion/anxiety which I am slowly working her though, she tends to do a lot of circles and downs when she gets overwhelmed. Overall I'm proud of the sweet momma and love getting to see when she figures out something new!

Iceland is making some awesome progress! Today we did our main lesson at a small shopping center and she practiced duration and distance with her Sit, keeping a tight Heel with distractions like restaurant smells. I am so proud of how far she has already come and can't wait to see how much further she is going to go!

Iceland helped me make you guys a video about her Recall today! This video is intended to help give you guys the basics and explain the command. Feel free to email me with any questions! She is coming along so well, I am so proud of all the progress she is making. She even had a fantastic Kennel day, only getting whiney if one of the other pups was going somewhere with out her!

We practiced a lot of Placing today! Momma is doing absolutely awesome! It was very hot today so we did some backyard reps really early this morning and two sessions after dark. When we went to the shopping center Iceland dragged her lead the whole time! We worked on Place, Sit, Heel, and her Recall. I couldn't be prouder of everything she is working through!

Iceland has come so far in one week! It was a real blazer today, so we did a few short sessions to keep the baby girl nice and cool. Then this evening she hung out on place for a whole tennis work out! At first she was a bit distracted by all the tennis balls flying around but quickly settled in and did awesome!

Iceland had so much fun today! We avoided the heat, working early and working late. She helped me make a Heel instructable today and then practiced a bunch of her distance/duration on her stationary commands. She is such a happy girl!

Miss Iceland was not ammused by my marketing lecture! She did however do awesome on place throughout it, even though I had a wide open lap ready to be snuggled on the whole 3 hour class! She was pretty tired after working on her Distance and Duration for her stationary commands all day, but she maintained her impulse control! She did get to come off and cuddle a little on one of my breaks though. I am so happy with how much progress she has made and I can't wait to get to show her off to her parents!

I have noticed a trend in her weight going down, so this evening I went ahead and upped her food a little.

Baby girl is doing pretty stellar! She still has a few minor things I want to work on and tweak, but for the most part she is dialed in! We worked on a bit of everything at the shopping center today and had a very intense puppy push up session this morning!

Iceland practiced all her commands in high distractions today! We were between the skate park and the dog park and the big girl practiced Placing, Sitting, and Downing with me at a distance with all kinds of action going on around her! She is going to be so excited to film her vinal video and go home this weekend!

Iceland worked on some advanced stuff today! We were practicing her "puppy push ups" her send to Place, and her Place to Place. She is doing so well and went to the shopping center with me in the evening where besides the first bit (when we were near cars) she did the whole lesson without a lead! While she was on Place the few groups of people that walked behind us all Oo'ed and Ahh'ed at how well behaved she is!

It was Miss Icelands last day! We finished up filming her final video and had a ton of extra cuddle time! I am so proud of all her progress and can't wait to see her show off tomorrow morning!
