Queen | Pitbull Mix | 1 Year Old | Long Beach, CA | In Training

Queen is a shy gal with a sweet heart. She's got those big eyes full of love, but lacks major confidence. She's here for 7 days of camp!

Pupdate 11/10/2019, Day Of Dropoff

Queen was pretty nervous getting out of the car when we got back to my house and would shy away if I reached near her. I let her do some exploring in the backyard for a bit and sniff around. After that, I sat down with her, wondering if she'd approach me and let me pet her. She got pretty close, but after a few minutes with no luck I gave her some space. I came back after a little bit with some hot dog pieces and slowly gained her trust. After she decompresses for a little bit, we're gonna go on a walk around the neighborhood.

Pupdate 11/12/2019 Queens getting the hang of things! We introduced place today, along with down. She's reluctant to down outside of the house. She gets really nervous around noises she can't see and doesn't want to be in a submissive position. We'll continue working on that, and get as much exposure to new stimulation as we can without overwhelming her.

Playtime! She doesn't care for any of the toys I have but she LOVES just running around the backyard like a spazz. It was really cute. We worked on our heel this morning, and practiced place & down.

Tonight, we're going to the home depot once it's less crowded, to practice basics around strange humans and work on confidence building. I'll post a video update under this one after we get back!

Getting the hang of place! She's been a bundle of fun around the house. We walked around the neighborhood a bit, and passed by some kids. She was shy, but continued walking by my side. We passed by a man in a hard hat, and she tried to jump up at him, but I corrected her with "off" and redirected her back into heel and we went on our way.

Practicing food refusal! This was a hard one for her. We're heading to the home depot soon to work on our down in public, and staying in heel when anxious.
