Beatrix, a five month old sheepadoodle, has joined OffLeash SoCal for our One Week Board and Train program. Beatrix comes to us with typical puppy behavior: jumping to greet, being easily distracted, little knowledge of commands, pulling on the leash, while walking, picking up and eating things she’s not suppose to. Over the week Beatrix will be working on her unleash obedience and manners. Check in to see her progress!

Beatrix is settling in well at my home. She got to meet all of her new doggie friends. She was a little shy at first, but she warmed up to them quickly and started to play.

Today Beatrix and I went to the park to work on her commands. I introduced and conditioned her to the ecollar. We practiced commands Sit, Place, and Heel. She did very well and caught on quickly to her new commands. Heel is still a work in progress but she is walking much better now; staying closer to my side and not trying to drag me around.

Today Beatrix and I went to the park to work on her commands. We practiced more of her Sit, Place, and Heel commands. We started working on recall and Down. Down was a little bit of a struggle. When it came to treats or kibble, Beatrix would lay down perfectly. Without the treats it was a little more difficult. We will continue to practice until she fully understands the command.

Today Beatrix and I went to Lowe’s to work out of the heat and train around distractions. She was a bit distracted when we first arrived, but as we walked around and trained Beatrix was able to settle down and focus back on her commands. She did pretty well. She is did much better with her Down command today.

Today Beatrix and I went to the mall to work on her obedience around distractions. She did a very good job! She was a little excitable with her surroundings, but was still able to focus and follow her commands. Beatrix received a few compliments on how well mannered she is for a puppy.

Today Beatrix and I went to the park to work on her obedience. We practiced all her commands and worked on her duration and distance. She did very well. Beatrix was focused and obedient.

Today Beatrix and I stayed home to train. We practiced on all her commands. We also worked on her food and door manners. Beatrix spent the rest of the day playing and socializing with her friends before she goes home tomorrow. I gave her a bath so she could be nice and clean when she sees you. Beatrix had done a great job with her training! She can’t wait to go home tomorrow and show you everything she has learned!
