Bear | German Shepherd | Redlands, CA
Bear the German Shepherd from Redlands, CA went through the OffLeash SoCal Board & Train Program. Bear was trained by Amanda Lascari in La Habra Heights, CA.
Bear, a 6 month old German Shepherd, has joined OffLeash SoCal for our 3 week board and train program. Bear is a sweet and energetic girl who comes to us with typical puppy behavior: biting, leash pulling, jumping to greet, and lack of following commands. Over the next 3 weeks she will be working on her off leash obedience and manners. Check in to see Bear’s progress!
Today Bear started her first day of training. I introduced and conditioned her to the Ecollar. We practiced commands sit and place. Place is a command where Bear has to sit or lay on an object. This command is great for confidence building as well as teaching her to just relax. She having a lot of fun running around and playing with her new friends!
Bear and I went to the park to work on her commands. We practiced more on sit and place. Today we practiced a new command, Come. She is a quick learner. She did good job on her 2nd day of training! She had a little accident in her crate last night. She had some diarrhe. not sure if it’s from the extra can of soft food added to her meals, so I just fed her dry kibble in the morning and added soft to her night meal.
Bear and I went back to the park today to continue working on commands. Bear learned a new command, Heel. She caught on really fast. She walks a lot better on the leash now, no pulling or biting at the leash. Bear still had diarrhea today. I took away the wet food completely and only feeding her kibble. I gave her some white rice to help her tummy.
Today we stayed home and worked on commands. Bear practiced come to sit and place. Today we worked on a new command, Down. Down isn't really her favorite command to do, but we will keep working on it. After her training, Bear had some fun playing and running around with her friends.
Today we stayed home again and worked on commands. It took us most of the day, but finally Bear got the hang of the down command. Bear's tummy is feeling a lot better, her stool is back to normal. I added her kibble back in to her meals and I'm decreasing the amount out the rice.
Today we stayed home and worked on commands, once the rain stopped. Bear and her buddy, Encino, practiced their heel, down, and sit.
Today I took Bear and her buddy, Encino, to a park to work on commands. We practiced duration dow, place, and heel. Today was Bear’s first day trying to work off leash. She did very well!
My apologies for not having this up. I was having issues uploading to the page. Today Bear and I worked on her off leash commands. We are still working on her holding commands. She wants to break command if I get too far or wait too long, but she is getting better everyday.
Today Bear started practicing for her Canine Good Citizen test. In order to receive her certifications, she must pass all 10 requirements.
